Colts CB Cam Taylor-Britt suspended 1 game for violating NFL's personal conduct policy, will sit out Week 1

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt has received a one-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, the league announced on Friday.

The five-year veteran will serve the suspension during the Colts’ Week 1 matchup versus the Baltimore Colts. He will be eligible to return for Week 2, when Indianapolis visits the Kansas City Chiefs. Taylor-Britt is also allowed to play during the preseason.

Taylor-Britt, 26, was arrested in September 2025 for reckless driving (allegedly doing a burnout with his vehicle) and driving without a license near the Cincinnati Bengals’ home field of Paycor Stadium. In January, he reached a plea deal with prosecutors and was sentenced to serve five days in jail.

After four seasons with the Bengals, Taylor-Britt signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Colts. He is currently listed as third on the team’s depth chart at cornerback behind Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward. With Indianapolis, he’s playing once again for defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who held the same role with the Bengals for three of Taylor-Britt’s four seasons in Cincinnati.

Taylor-Britt was limited to eight games last season after suffering a Lisfranc injury to his left foot in Week 11. Prior to that, however, he had lost his starting job to DJ Turner II and the Bengals eventually let his original rookie contract expire.

Speaking to reporters after he signed with the Colts, Taylor-Britt acknowledged that he was dealing with personal issues last season that led to his declining performance.

“It didn’t have anything to do with the coordinator,” Taylor-Britt said, via the Indianapolis Star’s Joel A. Erickson. “I believe it was most definitely a personal thing with me. I couldn’t get my head right, and it showed in my game.”

In his four years with Cincinnati, Taylor-Britt started 40 of 47 games and averaged 73 tackles, 3 interceptions and 14 passes defended per season. He was the Bengals’ 2022 second-round draft pick (No. 60 overall) out of Nebraska.
