Chiefs coach Andy Reid has a blunt response to everyone freaking out over Travis Kelce’s dad bod
NFL training camp is barely a week old, and the Kansas City Chiefs already find themselves embroiled in a full-blown investigation: Has Travis Kelce succumbed to the dreaded dad bod?
The internet's amateur body-fat analysts went to work last week after pictures of a noticeably thicker Kelce made the rounds.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid wasted little time trying to put out the fat fires Wednesday, telling the media his star tight end is bigger but allegedly in good shape.

"He came back in good shape," Reid insisted.
"I know everybody's out there saying he's got the dad body and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he's always looked, and [he's] playing like crazy." Reid even claimed the veteran is "focused in and ready to go" for every practice snap.
Kelce is officially listed at 250 pounds, but if you apply the eyeball test to the practice footage, that scale might be doing some heavy lifting.
The guy is 36 years old, which is basically 50 in tight end years.

Kelce spent the offseason pounding beers in VIP suites on the Eras Tour, married Taylor Swift in July, and expanded his media empire. He has three Super Bowl rings, infinite money, and a life on easy mode, even if he remembers his six-pack abs all too well.
With all that in mind, you'd be forgiven for wondering why he's still doing this. So why are we dragging this out?
Look at the numbers from last season. In 2025, Kelce posted a modest 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns. For normal mortals, those are decent numbers. For Travis Kelce? That is a clear slide down the hill.
Father Time remains undefeated, and carrying extra offseason weight certainly isn't going to turn back the clock.
