TPUSA’s Andrew Kolvet calls viral ‘looksmaxxing’ craze a ‘red warning sign’ for young men
Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet called the viral "looksmaxxing" trend a "warning sign" Tuesday, arguing that it reflects a growing mentorship vacuum among young men searching for guidance.
"This is all a giant red warning sign," Kolvet told "The Will Cain Show."
"Young men are going to be looking for mentors... [they] are looking for voices that will make sense of the chaos, that will help them navigate a very tumultuous social scene. They need help... and this is what Clavicular is offering them."

Kolvet's remarks came after Will Cain asked about Clavicular, a rapidly growing influencer known for promoting "looksmaxxing" — an online self-improvement trend focused on maximizing physical appearance through fitness, grooming and facial aesthetics.
In one practice known as "bone smashing," Clavicular acknowledged using a hammer to create microfractures in his jaw with the goal of promoting regrowth but emphasized that he does not recommend others try it without consulting a doctor.
Although Kolvet praised Clavicular as "very entertaining" and "very charismatic," he urged young men to prioritize other values.
"Instead of 'looksmaxxing,' we need to be encouraging young people to be 'charactermaxxing,'" Kolvet said.
"They need to be working on their faith life, on their social life and the things that actually have eternal purpose and value, so that's my big critique here."

Clavicular explained the goal behind the growing trend on the "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" podcast.
"Looksmaxxing is the most well-rounded form of self-improvement, just almost taking it to its logical conclusion," Clavicular said.
The influencer argued that attractive physical appearance improves "every single micro interaction in your life."
"You really need to prioritize looking better and starting to look max," he said.
Kolvet, however, said the answer to success lies in ensuring young men have positive mentors before they look elsewhere for guidance.
Addressing older viewers directly, Kolvet urged them to take an active role in mentoring younger men and said many are searching for help navigating an increasingly chaotic social landscape.
"I can't stress it enough, please, please, please find young men that you can mentor. And that is the big breakthrough for so many young men's lives."
