Former NFL guard Jordan Devey, who played for the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and Buffalo Bills has died. He was 38 years old.

According to a GoFundMe set up by his family, Devey "took his own life."

"Today would have been our 15th year anniversary," Devey's wife, Linsey, wrote in a post on Instagram. "We have filled the walls of our homes and hearts with countless memories, joys, struggles, and triumphs. We brought 4 beautiful children into this world that have your eyes, freckles, and compassion. You were our hero and our hearts ache in your absence. We love you. We miss you. And as you said in your last words to me, "we'll talk soon."

Devey was announced earlier this year as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Eagle High School in Eagle, Idaho.

"There are people who leave a legacy far greater than wins and losses. Jordan Devey was one of those people," read an Instagram post from Eagle High School football program. "Jordan's impact on youth sports in Eagle wasn't measured by trophies or championships—it was measured by the lives he touched. He believed in kids, invested his time, shared his knowledge, and helped build confidence, character, and a love for the game in countless young athletes. He made every player feel seen, every family feel welcome, and every team stronger because of his presence.

"The fields won't feel the same without him, but his influence will never leave them. Every practice, every game, every lesson about teamwork, perseverance, and doing things the right way carries a piece of what Jordan stood for.

"Our community has lost an incredible mentor, coach, and friend, but his legacy will continue to live on through the generations of young athletes he inspired. Jordan, thank you for everything you gave to Eagle and to youth sports.

"You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and never forgotten.

"Rest easy, Coach."

Devey signed with the Ravens in 2013 after going undrafted out of Memphis. He would join the Patriots' practice squad that September and ended up playing six regular-season games in 2014 as the team went on to win Super Bowl XLIX over the Seattle Seahawks.

Devey was dealt to the 49ers in Aug. 2015 and was picked up by the Chiefs after being waived the following offseason. He spent parts of three seasons with the Chiefs before finishing his career with the Raiders and the Bills in 2021.
